01.Out of Kyushu, Japan—a manufacturer delivering top-class production scale and stable supply

Sakito, Saikai, Nagasaki, faces the scenic Goto-nada Sea. While most Japanese salt manufacturers are based along the Seto Inland Sea coast, Diasalt is the only large manufacturer based in Kyushu and boasts one of Japan’s largest production capacities for a single plant. Taking advantage of its location in Nagasaki, where the risk of earthquakes is relatively low, Diasalt is fulfilling its commitment to a stable supply through a robust business continuity plan (BCP) framework that ensures the company can stand strong in the event of a large-scale emergency.

02.Distribution network innovation: Strengths and cost advantages of the Sea of Japan side

Taking full advantage of our location, with the sea on all sides, we put marine transportation at the core of our distribution operations.
By utilizing strategic relay bases throughout Japan, we have achieved excellent transportation efficiency—especially in the Sea of Japan area, where land-transportation costs are high.
Our modal shift to a vessel-centric approach not only cuts transportation costs but also eases reliance on long-haul trucks, making a direct positive impact on reducing CO2 emissions.
Diasalt’s sustainable distribution network delivers products in a cheaper, more reliable, and more environmentally friendly way.

03.New value in the salt field through research and development: Market-oriented product development

We do not see salt as just a commodity. Embracing the market-oriented approach of being attuned to what consumers want, we take on the challenge of developing products that convert every need into value—from seawater salt to processing select sun-dried salt. We have also acquired our own patents in recent years, showing that our technological capabilities are highly regarded in the industry. Fusing advanced refining technology with a flexible development system, we meet a wide range of changing needs with added value for everything from food processing to industrial and cutting-edge electronic component applications.

04.Pursuing rarity and quality: Contributing to chemical products and cutting-edge devices that stand alone in Japan

We continue to enrich the advanced seawater treatment technologies that we have developed in the salt-manufacturing business, focusing on applying those assets to the production of high-quality chemical products. Diasalt is the only company in Japan that produces food-additive-grade potassium chloride from seawater. The product is also used in sports drinks and low-sodium foods. We also produce high-purity potassium chloride, a step up from food-additive-grade potassium chloride in terms of refinement. High-purity potassium chloride serves as a raw material for the tantalum capacitors that are vital to smartphones and other precision devices, making it a key element in manufacturing the world’s most advanced devices.
Our commitment to quality extends to bittern, which does not contain any additives. Our rigorous controls keep the major components within an exacting range of ±1.0%. Backed by data, our high-precision quality control system has earned us the trust of customers in food safety, high-tech industries, and many other fields.
